What is a Body System Reset and why would we ever want to do one? We call this a reset, but other common terms used are cleanse or reboot. We are basically talking about taking a set period of time and letting all of your body systems rest while still obtaining vitamins and minerals from juice. It’s like hitting a reset button for your body. We don’t make any medicinal claims regarding resets curing any disease or preventing illness, but there are some benefits that you may experience upon completion of a reset.

While some people do experience some amazing benefits of periodic resets, there are some potential side effects to watch out for while doing one. Sometimes conditions that we suffer from can become more pronounced during a reset. Also, depending on how hard we are on our bodies on a daily basis, some people may experience more intense detox signs. When we increase our nutrient intake and decrease the number of processed food items or potential toxins, our bodies are able to release stored toxins into the bloodstream to allow them to be removed from our system. This can cause chills, headaches, diarrhea, fatigue, inflammation, mental fogginess, or mood swings. These symptoms generally only last 1-2 days, but this can vary depending on where you are starting from. If you are a heavy drinker and eat a lot of processed food and animal products, you may experience some of these symptoms longer than someone who usually eats little processed food and a mostly plant based diet.
It is very important to drink lots of water while doing a reset (we should be doing this anyway, right?!). Maintaining hydration does so much good for our bodies, especially during a reset, so grab your water bottle! Just as important is to be kind to yourself. A reset is HARD!!! It is hard to deny cravings we may have. It is hard to try to eliminate caffeine, sugar, and processed foods! Listen to your body and your cravings and be mindful of what they are really about before deciding a reset isn’t for you! Because when you do come out on the other side–you may just feel amazing!!!

After Your Reset
Congratulations on finishing your reset! But don’t go celebrate with a big burger and fries! Reintroduce solid food gradually and mainly with whole, unprocessed food for at least a few days while your body adjusts to solid food again.
Monitor how you feel after the reset and with each new food your reintroduce to your diet. You may notice your body feels differently after certain foods; our bodies are smart, don’t ignore what it is telling you.
